Hello dear forum visitors!
This is WarZone staff messaging again to prepare you for the next tournament starting soon. Republic Corruption I is a clanbased Capture The Flag Ladder starting on the 12th July 2010!
To give you a short introduction into its background:
Quote:
Corruption has entered the Galactic Republic! Simple clone commandos as well as the special commandos are struggling against their destiny which contains Order 66. The big clone army has been disrupted into several squads which are now fighting against eachother. A huge mess has taken the spot of where once was peace, it is up to you to chose one side, either you protect the Jedi Council or stay loyal to the Chancellor which turned out who is an evil Sith Lord called Darth Sidious. But however you will decide, the corruption will take their toll. We are looking forward to an age of darkness. Join one side and try to stay alive as long as you can, it is the only way to avoid death - for now.
•What does clanbased mean?: Clanbased simply means that each clan is fighting for its own honor. Every clan's member is allowed to take part. from a private up to the leader. The team has no players maximum and CTF matches from 2v2 till 16vs16 are allowed. Challenge other clans to prove that you're the deserved champions and earn the crown!
•What to do if not enough players are online?: There will also be Free Agents, those are allowed to play for every clan if a player is missing. Every player can join a different match and help out, but he does not earn any points for this since his team is actually not taking part in this match. Every team can have 2 Free Agents in a match.
•How long will the tournament last?: The tournament will last over 3 weeks, starting at the 12th July and ending on the 2nd August! But you are already able to sign up, create teams and invite your teammates into them!
•Are there any specific rules?: Beside the old and well known rule that the so-called "noob weapons" are not allowed, there is nothing special to add. Just play fair, friendly, stop when someone says stop, don't leave during a match etc.
•How will US vs EU matches look like?: Because of ping differences we had to create something special for this to try to make it fair. EU vs US matches will have a longer duration. This is because of the amount of battles which need to be played. There will be played 4 rounds. 2 on EU server, 2 on USA server. The clans wich wins 3 out of the 4 rounds, wins. if its a tie, the winner with the highest flag score from all matches wins.
•Which mode will be played?: Repbublic Corruption I will be the first ever clanbased CTF Ladder played in the brand-new PROMOD. Why PROMOD and not the normale mode you might think. Well this is easily answered, PROMOD just has a lot better features and brought Star Wars Republic Commando to a yet unforeseen amazing quality, especially sine the early in July 2010 released version 1.1b is completely without bugs and any issues! You do not know it yet and have not ever played it? No problem, the gameplay basically stays the same, you'll get used to PROMOD in one minute. Just to give you a first impression of the new stuff and fixed things you can see this video, but there has even other things been done and bugs been fixed - a totally exciting gameplay.
•Where do I get PROMOD and how do I use it?: To answer the first question: You simply have to visit our website and download the PROMOD.This takes about 10 minutes but it is definetely worth downloading and playing! Chose one out of the following 3 links to download the PROMOD: http://rapidshare.com/files/403019069/T ... L.exe.html http://www.share-online.biz/download.php?id=52VA7S4LMQJ http://netload.in/dateiJj3mfEPCPb.htm For those of you who have not used PROMOD yet, here is a short tutorial (German, English, French) explaining everything step by step, just read it while the download, this takes 1 minute maximum. :-) viewtopic.php?f=113&t=6727 If you have any questions about the PROMOD, feel free to message us! There are 7 days until the tournament starts, means there is a lot of time to download and install the PROMOD, even if you do not understand it directly. :)
•Are there even PROMOD server(s)? Yes there are. TX will host at least one PROMOD server!
•Which maps will be played?: Of course there are the beloved maps ArenaA17, Engine, Lockdown, G9 and so on available, but we also put some very awesome new maps into the PROMOD and also redesigned Engine etc. Play incredible amazing matches on them! However you can play the map you want, there wont be special conditions.
•How does this WarZone work?: If you have not took part in any tournament by WarZone yet, the first step should be to know our website: http://www.tx-gaming.net/warzone/ For anything more read this tutorial especially written for Republic Corruption I:
Hidden content:
•How do I sign up for the ladder? After you made an account at http://www.tx-gaming.net/warzone/ you click on the "Join Ladder" button: On the now opened website you create a new team. •When you created your team, invite your teammates by clicking on [Manage Teams]. You find this option after you clicked on [Manager] on the top pf the right column.
•How to play a Republic Corruption I match? This is quite easy, let me explain how you start a match. At first you find your opponents and teammates in Xfire, I suppose you knew this before. Once you did that, visit the WarZone website and click on this banner to challenge them officialy: Fill in the match conditions: Now your opponent's team leader gets a PM and has to accept the challenge: Now you can play your match!
•What to do when the match is finished? Now both team leaders have to report the match immediately! The leader (or captain) of the team which lost has to click on "Report a Loss": Now the winning team has to confirm/finalize the match by clicking on "Report a Result" as well, but the result is already given! That's it, the scores are in the ladder now!
•Do we need to take screenshots? You do not have to post screenshots to report a match, but if your opponent does not report a match a WarZone staff member can do this - he would need a screenshot. It is highly recommended to take a screen at the end of a match!
•I do not have Xfire In-Game features in PROMOD, how should I take screenshots? We have worked on patch for Xfire to enable In-Game features, and it works! Check out this tutorial.
3rd step: Windows 7/Vista: Launch the setup and install the files into the ProgramData folder of Xfire (usually called C:\ProgramData\Xfire) Do not install it into the Xfire folder in ProgramFiles! Windows XP: Launch the setup and install the files into the ProgramFiles folder of Xfire (should already be given in the setup).
4th step: When the setup is finished, launch Xfire again and log in to your account. Now you open the Xfire options and go to games (GER:Extras-Optionen-Spiele /// ENG: Tools-Options-Games //// FR: Outils - Options - Jeux).
5th step: Scroll down until you reached the Star Wars Republic Commando PROMOD entry, and chose the Game Path to your PROMOD directory, and chose the SWRepublicCommando.exe placed in GameData/System.
That's it, from now on when you click on "Tools-Launch" you should find both, the normal Star Wars Republic Commando entry as well as the Star Wars Republic Commando PROMOD entry! ___________________________________________________
Please notice that you are only able to chat In-Game and take screens/videos! You can not use the broadcast feature. Also you are not able to upload the taken screens/videos to your Xfire profile, but of course they are on your computer and can be uploaded to any other hoster!
•Any questions? If you have general questions about the WarZone website visit our tutorial: viewtopic.php?f=143&t=4950 If you do not find answers there, feel free to send me (or of course anyone else out of the WarZone staff) an E-Mail at [Ironhide@TX-Gaming.net] (in my case), you can also contact us in Xfire (in my case the username is "theazura") or simply with sending us a Personal Message on the forums or by replying to this post!

We have done what players told us to do and worked with their suggestions, most people should like it then, there are exceptions of course, but the main part of the community should be able to take part.
